Laxatives And Weight Loss Tablets

Many obese people around the world who are on the constant lookout for innovative, fast and effective ways to lose weight rely on laxatives and weight loss tablets to shed their extra pounds. Though these procedures to lose weight may seem easy and speedy in nature they may cause serious side effects and health implications if they are consumed or taken without proper awareness.

Of the many laxatives available in the market for weight loss, dieter’s tea happens to be one of the most popular forms of laxatives taken for weight loss. However if you are not careful with the intake of this laxative it can lead to irregular or frequent bowel movements, which may leave you weak. Many people believe that the frequent bowel movements actually occur to cleanse the system and bring about a weight loss, though however this is not true. It can affect your overall digestion process and leave you dehydrated at the end of the day.

Dieter’s tea is usually made of herbs like aloe, senna, rhubarb root, cascara, buckthorn and castor oil which are considered to be natural ingredients as they are derived from natural plants. Basically diarrhea induced by laxatives present in this tea claims to cause weight loss, however they can cause more harm in the process than advantage. It can cause severe damage to the gastrointestinal tract and may even cause bone weakness. As it has a weakening effect, it is considered dangerous for pregnant women or those trying to conceive. Don’t get deceived by the low calorie tag on these laxatives sold in the market as they are most likely to contain no calories and the taste that you get is actually from the sweeteners present in these laxatives. Other side effects include nausea, stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, fainting, rectal bleeding, constipation and electrolyte disorder.

Apart from laxatives, weight loss tablets too are taken by many as means to reduce weight. These weight loss tablets increase the metabolic rate of the body and makes one feel less hungry as it also controls the nerves of the brain that induce hunger.

Though initially they may seem as an easy and fast method to weight loss, they are harmful in the long run. Over intake of these weight loss pills can affect your brain, liver and heart permanently. People still resort to these drugs as they felt that they were an easy way out to lose weight rather than exercising and following a fixed diet chart which requires much hard work and most of all dedication.

If you still chose to take these laxatives and drugs for weight loss, it is advisable to consult your physician before you start your course.
